Venue: Langford Lakes, Wilts (near Salisbury)
Travelling time: <1hr, left home 8:15am
Weather: Cloudy, chilly wind.
Comments: Same organisers as last years 'Drovers revenge'.
Based at Langford lakes wildlife centre.
Course well-marked and marshalled; walked up much of steep first mile.
Terrain quite easy, v.little mud; mile on old tarmac road not good for my sciatica.
Steep downhill at end on chalk track - would be v.dodgy if wet.
Alec drove me there, then walked & took photos.
Lunch at pub (Bell at Wylie)
Age-groups: Up to v60 gents and ladies.
Results: Rosemarie 1h:03m:51s (2nd v60, beaten by Judith from Yeovil, now just 60)

Venue: Foxbury (near East Wellow), Hants
Travelling time: about 30mins, left home 9:15am
Weather: Sunny, warm!
Comments: Low-key family-friendly (included childrens race).
National Trust inclosure, in process of restoration, so quite bare.
Unfortunately all run on gravel track, hard on feet and not good for my sciatica.
Managed to keep on central grass strip in parts.
Continuous undulations, with steep uphill finish.
Alec drove me there, then walked.
Age-groups: Up to v60 gents and ladies.
Results: Rosemarie 59m:40s (2nd v60; under the hour - hooray!)

Durberville Dash 10k

28th Jul 201310k MT.
Venue: Wool (near Wareham), Dorset
Travelling time: about 1hr, left home 9am
Weather: Sunny, warm
Comments: Based in sports pavillion (hot showers).
Unfortunately half on tarmac (not good for my sciatica).
Nice winding path through woods but too narrow to overtake timid roadies.
Relatively few hills, none steep (so no views).
Black tech T-shirt for everyone included.
Long delay waiting for results (excuse=too many entries on-the-day).
Gave up and went to pub Stokeford Inn.
Alec drove me there, took his bike. 6 NFR runners.
Age-groups: Every 5 years, gents and ladies.
Results: Rosemarie 57m:06s (1st v65; another 'seasons best'!)
206 finishers.

Avon Tyrrell 10k

31st Aug 201310k x-c, 2 laps (or 5k 1 lap).
Venue: Avon Tyrrell, Bransgore, Dorset
Travelling time: about 10mins
Weather: Sunny, warm
Comments: 10k Charity fun-run organised by 'Hope Rising', also part of Runningtree series.
All off-road.
Very convoluted course doubling back thru woods on winding mountain-bike trails; tapes, arrows and marshals but still easy to go off-route.
Large group (including me) missed a turn on 1st lap, cut out a loop (about 2.5mins extra on 2nd lap).
Quite hilly, but not steep; ground very uneven, loads of tree roots so couldn't look at views (would have been treacherous if wet and muddy).
Lots of NFR runners.
Age-groups: No vets categories, just 1st 3 ladies & gents.
Results: Rosemarie 58m:41s (only 5.75miles; 6th lady)
60 finishers (39 gents,21 ladies).
